Environmental Management Services has developed a program that assists clients with all aspects of stormwater issues.  Our expertise and experience gives us the ability to assess each client’s specific needs and to interact with the regulatory community helping our clients to avoid costly project delays and possible compliance issues.

With the implementation of the new stormwater management regulations (WAC 173-200/204), and the requirement for compliance faced by all property owners / operators and local governments’ stormwater management and monitoring has become critical to the management and development of property throughout Western Washington.

The use of Source Control and Best Management Practices (BMPs) still remain the primary focus for stormwater management.  Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC) and National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits can also be required depending on the facility and effluent discharge location.  EMS provides these and many other services to property owners / operators throughout the Puget Sound.

In developing our stormwater program, EMS continually interviews local government and regulatory agencies with the intention to get a time-line on their inspection process of current stormwater systems.  EMS works with both the regulatory agency and the property owner / operator to not only satisfy the immediate stormwater requirements but to educate and implement system upgrades to avoid future compliance issues.

EMS has inspected and completed maintenance on hundreds of stormwater systems throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The implementation of a proficient stormwater maintenance program is key to meeting the regulatory storm water requirements.  EMS works with each client to ascertain their facilities needs and how best to implement these requirements.
